CCC holds
workshop for World AIDS Day
In observance of World AIDS Day , the Caribbean
Conference of Churches (CCC) will be hosting a workshop for
religious leaders and leaders of Faith Based Organisations
(FBOs) in Tobago on December 1, 2004 .
Entitled "A
Faith Based Response to HIV/AIDS", this
workshop will focus on discussing the impact of HIV/AIDS
on the country and the development of effective and holistic
faith based interventions. The workshop is part of a wider
HIV/AIDS project, "Building
a Faith-Based Response to HIV/AIDS in the Caribbean ," that
targets the 14 CARICOM territories. It is being financed
by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). During the workshop discussions
will centre on HIV/AIDS the Pandemic, Stigma and Discrimination,
Developing an IEC Campaign, and Looking at a Way Forward.
The workshop which will take place at the Blue Haven Hotel
in Bacolet from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on December 1, 2004
. Following the workshop will be an Ecumenical Service.
This will be held at the St. Andrews Anglican Church, Bacolet
Street , Scarborough from 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm . The public
is invited to this service.
